Registration and Profile

Why do I have to register?

Registration is necessary for the following reasons: a) To comment and download use cases on the website b) Access to the co-creation space if you are part of a project group

I have not received a confirmation email after registering.

Check your spam folder. If you have not received a confirmation email, please contact the Chapter Admin.

I cannot log in despite registering.

Users who registered before spring 2022 must register again, as the single sign-on procedure was introduced by buildingSMART from this date.

I have no access to the co-creation space despite registering.

a) You must be part of an active project, after which you will be assigned by the administrator. You will receive a corresponding notification (check your spam folder). b) Use the contact form to submit a request with details. Select the organization and apply for inclusion in a specific project.

I have received an invitation to the Co-Creation Space to work on a project. Although I have confirmed the invitation, access is not working.

1. When confirming the invitation, make sure that the page loads completely and a confirmation message appears. 2. To speed up the process, the project administrator can accept the invitation for you and a confirmation message will also appear. 3. Log out and log in again to solve the problem. 4. Contact the administrator of your organization via the contact form.

How can I customize my profile settings?

1. Select ACCOUNT > PROFILE. 2. Select EDIT BASIC INFORMATION to customize the personal settings. 3. Note: Surname / first name is transferred directly in the Use Case Management Service. 4. Select COMPANY INFO to customize the company / address.

How can I customize the language in the Co-Creation Space?

1. Select ACCOUNT > PROFILE. 2. You can change the language settings in your profile.

I have changed my employer and would like to assign the use cases in which I have worked to my new employer.

This is not possible. Use cases refer to the original employer. You need written confirmation from your former employer to request this from the administrator via the contact form.

How are access rights regulated?

I have access to a project in Co-Creation Space, but do not have write authorization

1. You have been assigned to a project as a team member and therefore only have read access and can comment on documents. 2. The responsible project manager can grant you write authorization.

How can I create a new document in Co-Creation Space?

Can I change the document type after I have created the document for the first time?

1. Yes, the document type can be changed under METADATA. 2. However, it is not possible to change the document category afterwards, as this is based on a different basic structure.

Which «life cycle phases» are recommended for our use cases?

The description of a use case should be as general as possible. The IDM standard recommends the life cycle phases of ISO 22263, but various national standards can also be selected.

A standard is missing in the «Standards / referenced documents» drop-down menu, how can I add it?

This can only be added by the UMC administrator. To do this, use the contact form and enter the missing standard or document

No life cycle phases are displayed in the ‘Process diagram’

Select the required life cycle phases under «Use cases description».

A use case can no longer be edited

1. Each published use case has a revision. This revision is locked in the Co-Creation Space as it can no longer be changed. 2. Create a new REVISION directly in the use case
