The ROS-BIM Project utilizes a dynamic integration between the Robotic Operation System (ROS) and the ifcOWL ontology to enable the automation of digital fabrication using IFC model data. The project's objectives included examining the feasibility of integrating ROS with ifcOWL ontology for digital fabrication automation, developing a workflow for extracting wall geometry data (including openings) from IFC models, and implementing a system for cutting gypsum boards based on standard dimensions. Additionally, the team aimed to simulate and visualize robotic movements and fabrication processes using RVIZ and update the resulting panel geometry on the server as an IfcBuildingElementProxy, labeling them with their fabrication status.
