Planning of Openings and Cutouts - Provision for Void

Use Case Definition

In the course of a meeting of the buildingSMART Regional Group Central Germany in 2017, the project group "Planning of Slots and Cutouts" was established. This work resulted from an initiative of several people / companies who want to work together to develop a uniform standard for opening planning based on IFC-Schema.
The stated goal of the use case is to build a simple and pragmatic workflow for BIM-based coordination of openings and cutouts, aka Provision for Voids.
This use case describes the results from the project group. In addition to presenting and explaining the workflow, many other topics (general BIM information, common insertion point, etc.) are addressed and elaborated in the document's appendices.
All digital information (models, templates, mvdXML files, etc.) collected during the creation of the use case (or guide) is freely available under the overall process and information requirements
The guide contains all the findings that were collected and provides hints and aids for practical application.
